Engaging Students with Adaptive Tutorials The second workshop for the Adaptive eLearning@ALTC Project When: Monday, 14th February 2011 Where: RMIT University, Casey Plaza Video Conference Room Time: 10:00am - 12:30pm Detailed instructions on getting there is also available here Adaptive eLearning@ALTC is an ALTC-funded, cross-university project to develop and disseminate a set of Adaptive Tutorials targeting threshold concepts in Engineering Mechanics.
Adaptive Tutorials are highly engaging educational activities that mimic one-on-one tutoring by intelligently adapting to student's misconceptions and providing timely feedback. The following universities are participating in the project:
The project's second workshop will be open to the public. Attendees will learn about the Adaptive eLearning approach and will get hands-on experience with developing Adaptive Tutorials using the Adaptive eLearning Platform. You may also find this exciting educational technology applicable in other areas of study; we will discuss various applications such as Medicine (e.g. Virtual Patients and Virtual Slides), Biology (e.g. Virtual Laboratories), Business Simulations, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and others.
